The Gino's story began in 1966 when two taxi drivers and a friend frustrated with rush hour traffic decided to open a pizzeria off of Michigan Avenue and Supeior Street. The rest is history. The original Gino's East became an instant legend with local Chicagoans, national celebrities and visitors from around the world who knew that standing in line for a taste of Chicago's original deep dish pizza was worth the wait.
Gino's East deep dish pizza tastes the same as it did back then, but it looks a little bit different every time because each one is hand-made. These legendary pizzas pies are brought to the table in enormous, well-seasoned pans loaded with the freshest ingredients surrounded by Gino's East's famous golden crust.
